The whole property is very well-cared for; indoors and outdoors appointments are in perfect harmony not only with each other, but also with the spirit of the island. From the private parking lot shaded by an enormous bougainvillea plant a trail leads up to the house and the large main terrace with a full view on the sea, table, chairs and the typical stone benches covered by soft cushions. A glass door leads into the generous and perfectly appointed kitchen, which features antique coloured tiles on the worktops and floors, a bright and cheerful room with a fine view of the sea below. A passage on the left leads to the living room/bedroom: this was once the room where wine was made and stored; it has two alcoves one of which houses the double bed, whereas the other has an open fireplace. Again antique tiles have been used to cover the floor, the furnishings are very pleasant with touches of real elegance. Beyond a narrow hall is the bathroom with shower whose window looks directly on the enormous fig tree just outside. A small room with stone walls is accessible from the outside and houses the external shower. Just around the corner of the terrace is the big outside dining area shaded by a cane roof and featuring a big table and chairs, on the stone benches coloured cushions make for comfortable seating. A small space, set a little apart, houses the barbecue, and some stone steps lead up to the main dammuso’s roof, with its mattress and big cushions an ideal sport for having a drink in the evening and looking out so sea. Another set of stone steps going downwards brings you to one of the two guest houses with a two-bed room with antique tiles, a clothes cupboard set into the thick wall and a white-tiled bathroom. The other guest house is completely independent; it can be accessed from the entrance area and has a double bedroom and a bathroom; its colours and style repeat those of the main house.
The surrounding area:Te nearest access to the sea is at Cala Tramontana/Cala Levante (2 km) or else theElefante bay; both are easily reached by car, and both have smooth rocks for sunbathing and easy access to the water. At Cala Levante there are also a diving center and a pub.Not very distant (10 minutes by car) is the tiny village of Gadir with its minuscule harbor, which because of its hot springs welling up directly by the waterline is a must for every guest on Pantelleria.
